Delegation from Malaysia to attend the World Curry Festival 2016

unnamed-3We are delighted to be welcoming a delegation of representatives from Malaysia at this year’s World Curry Festival. They will be accompanied by the Honourable Dato’ Haji Abdul Malik Kassim, the Malaysian State Minister for Religious Affairs and Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs from the State Government of Penang.

 

unnamed-4The delegates will be promoting Malaysian street food and ready meal food products from PIHH Development Sdn Bhd, a Penang-based business which promotes Halal products.

They will be exhibiting at the World Curry Festival’s opening weekender at Kala Sangam Arts Centre in Bradford from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 September. Penang is located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

It is often referred to as the “The Pearl of the Orient” and widely regarded as the food capital of Malaysia. The state plays a key role in the growing global demands for Halal products and services.

unnamed-5Zulfi Karim, Founder of the World Curry Festival, is proud to be hosting the team from Malaysia, and comments: “We are delighted to be welcoming to the UK the Honourable Dato’ Haji Abdul Malik Kassim and the team from PIHH Development who we have partnered with at the Penang International Halal Expo and Conference for the last two years.”

 

The invitation to host the World Curry Festival in Malaysia was originally made possible by the Honourable Dato’ Haji Abdul Malik Kassim, who invited the festival to exhibit at the Penang International Halal Expo and Conference back in 2014.

P1430432Also attending the festival from Malaysia, is star chef Pearly Kee, a fifth-generation Penang Nyonya, and a popular food ambassador for Penang.

Pearly’s authentic Nyonya cooking classes have attracted students from all over the world including, celebrity chefs, professionals and true foodies drawn by her cheeky, feisty style.
